Bury LINks Role in Bury
Bury LINk has been set up to give local communities a stronger voice on how their health and social care services are provided and delivered. We are an independent group of local people, community groups and organisations working together to make health and social care services are improved for everyone in Bury.

We are here to ensure local people not only have a say but are listened to regarding local health and social care services received.
The Bury LINk is for you to 'Have Your Say' about local health and social care services.
Your views, experiences and suggestions all matter to us. You can:
  • Tell us what is working well and what is not
  • Check how services are planned and run
  • Identify gaps in services
  • Influence those who make decisions about new or existing services
  • Suggest ideas to improve services
  • Feedback to the people who are responsible for providing and delivering health and social care services
  • Raise the concerns of local people
  • Give people a stronger voice
We work with people and organisations that provide these services, such as the local Council or the NHS. This includes the PCT, hospitals and the Mental Health Trust to make services better to meet the needs of people in Bury.
The LINk has been given certain powers that can help make things happen. It can:
  • Make recommendations and request information from services and expect a response within a set amount of time
  • Refer matters to the Council’s Overview and Scrutiny Committee when action is not being taken and get a response
  • It can enter specific health and social care services and view the care provided to improve services
